Just a couple of points about the walk.
You can get tickets half price with a Bus Pass.
Get a standard day return to Darton not an off-peak. Northern won’t allow an off-peak ticket on our return journey which is in their peak times.
I think it is easiest to get these tickets from the counter. Northern say they won’t take the money on the train and I don’t know if the machines can give the travel pass discount.
We will be getting the 16:16 train back so light will be fading. The last mile is along the roadside so that will not be a problem. However if you have a torch bring it. We go through some woodland mid afternoon which might be a bit dark if it is overcast so it might be useful.
