Hello all you rambling folk. If you fancy doing some lovely walks along the Settle to Carlisle line, have a look at the Ride 2 Stride 2015 website. Peter and I had booked to do it again this year but unfortunately have had to cancel. The B and B is called Settle Lodge, you will find it on TripAdvisor. It has excellent reviews!! We had booked it for 8 nights starting 28th April until 5th May.
So if you are interested for all or a few of the nights……you will not be disappointed!!

Carole et alI walked the S & C railway route (as close as we could follow it) 2 years ago. There is an excellent Harvey map (www.harvey.co.uk) which follows the route. Available from most of the booksellers (Waterstones etc) in Sheffield for about £10. Don’t necessarily follow it religiously. Experience walkers will spot some alternatives pathways. The further north you go the quieter it becomes, but leave some time to look at Carlisle Castle and the fortresses & museum.A wonderful walk of about 85 miles in total – but with some lovely overnight stop – offs on the way!Neil
