Wednesday Christmas lunch

Uncategorised Posted on Mon, November 18, 2019 21:33:11

Some of you may know that I’ve been shut out of all my techy stuff for a while – I’m now back up and running.
I’m going through 3 weeks worth of emails – and most texts haven’t arrived so if you’ve sent me any bookings for the Christmas lunch on Wednesday 4th could you resend them/ If you go to https://www.shinysheffsheffield.co.uk/christmas/ and look at the festive menu you could send me your choices. (Email: judygath@gmail.com, text: 07557272559 or home phone (answerphone if I’m not in): 0114 2295476).
I need them by Wednesday evening (I’ll be walking on Wednesday) so if I don’t see you to collect your £5 deposit I’ll put it in until I see you.
Sorry about all this – it’s been a nightmare!!
Judy

Blog updated

General Posted on Sun, November 17, 2019 20:19:33

As I explained a bit ago One.com our web hosts are moving their blogs to a new system. I have moved ours this afternoon.

The new blog system is, in my opinion, awful. I have spent some hours sorting out various aspects with lots of queries to the support staff. Simply adding a post seems to me to be messy and exceedingly unclear. However there is nothing I can do about it. The old version was pretty friendly this one is not.

It really needs documentation and training for all users but I am not volunteering to do it. I don’t know where to go from here so any suggestions will be welcome. Do login and see how much sense you can make of it. Hint: to see the blog click on Talk the Walk at the top left of the screen.

I have a spare ticket for the film Quiet Flows the Don. It is a documentary about the River Don, South Yorkshire’s great industrial waterway, once the filthiest river in Europe, but now at the heart of one of Britain’s most remarkable environmental success stories.. (See link HERE.) It starts at 6 and is 1.5 hours.

If you want the ticket email me dave@thebolehills.uk. First come … etc

Bradfield Paths Photo Op Cancelled

General Posted on Tue, November 12, 2019 09:13:22

Dear all,

As you maybe aware we had planned to have a Photo Op with our AGM Guest Speaker, Paco Gonzalez, from Ramblers Worldwide Holidays, nailing a RWH Plaque to one of the stiles that we had repaired as part of the Bradfield Paths Improvement Project today. The RWH had helped sponsor this project. This was to take place at 10:30am today.

In the light of the continuing rain today we have decided to CANCEL this photo op and will arrange to do it another day when it will be fine. Paco has been informed and is OK with that decision. Please inform anyone you know who might be thinking of attending.

Don’t forget that a big publicity Launch for the Bradfield Paths Renewal Project is being arranged to take place at 12 noon on Wednesday February 26th 2020 at the Bradfield Village Hall to which everyone is invited to come along and support. Ramblers Worldwide Holidays and the other sponsors to the project will also be invited to attend.

A number of walks are being arranged to join up with it.
Please put the date in your diaries

Regards,

Malcolm Dixon
